Vets Rock!

Written by Angela Caban,

Throughout the month of March, I have been on search for organizations that support our military. I am always amazed at the amount of organizations around that support our men and women in uniform. When I came across Vets Rock, I knew more people needed to become aware of this wonderful organization.

Since May of 2009 Vets Rock has been providing veterans of the U.S. Military with basic needs such as food and shelter. How do they do this? They rely on donations, concerts, events and fund raising through many areas of the United States. Vets Rock, hope to raise awareness of the many veterans left homeless today.

A shocking number of over 76,000 veterans were homeless in 2009 and over 136,000 spent at least one night in a homeless shelter. The men and women of this country that have so bravely protected and fought for our rights deserve all the respect, admiration and honor that they deserve. With the donations received, Vets Rock will be able to keep more veterans off the streets and help them get back on their feet, something that has been an ongoing issue since Vietnam.
