An agreement between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Visual Telecommunication Network Inc. has been reached for a renewed contract involving the continued delivery of home health products to former servicemembers.
ViTelCare is a subsidiary of the technology company, The Bosch Group. The company won the bid for the VA contract over five other proposals. The VA has used ViTelCare’s home telehealth product line since 2004.
Marie Mann, national government sales director for ViTelCare, said, “The award of our ViTelCare contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the planned roll-out of telehealth in the next years is further confirmation of the benefits that home telehealth can have in our healthcare system,”
The main product provided to the VA by ViTelCare is the T400 Home Health Monitor. Part of the agreement is for the T400 to be used to assist former servicemembers to live at home without the need for 24-hour care despite illnesses such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, diabetes, congestive heart failure as well as many other ailments that typically require close care.
In addition to providing former servicemembers with freedom and privacy in their own homes, the T400 Home Healthc Monitor also can send a signal to medical personnel whenever a potential health issue arises and indicating to care providers whether a patient needs additional assistance.
Servicemembers interested in learning more about the partnership involving ViTelCare or those who wish to learn more about veterans benefits they may be eligible to receive may contact their local VA office.
