Top Wounded Warrior Official Forced Out
The Pentagon official in charge of the wounded warrior program said Sunday he has been forced to resign, as the military continues to struggle with how best to care for troops injured in combat.

Small bands of elite American Special Operations forces have been operating with increased intensity for several weeks in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan’s largest city, picking up or picking off insurgent leaders to weaken the Taliban in advance of major operations, senior administration and military officials say.
Report Shows 18 Veterans a Day Commit Suicide:
The cost of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are becoming clearer with the announcement that 18 veterans commit suicide.
Many more attempts are unsuccessful, Army Times reported. It said there are an average of 950 suicide attempts monthly by veterans who are under treatment at Veterans Affairs centers.
Attack Targeting Shiite Worshipers Kills Dozens in Iraq:
BAGHDAD – A triple bombing hit the main Baghdad office of an anti-U.S. Shiite cleric
in the deadliest of a series of attacks across Iraq that killed at least 58 people and wounded more than 200, officials said.

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — The 21st Theater Sustainment Command paved the way for another first when it facilitated the acquisition and receipt of five UH-72A Lakota helicopters – the Army’s newest aircraft. The cutting-edge helicopters received at Ramstein Air Base, are the first ones to reach the U.S. Army in Europe.
