All,

I am the Ohio Chapter Director for Honor and Remember. I respect the opinions of those that say we need only one flag, the American Flag, but I disagree. I have done or attended a dozen flag presentations. Heroes from Vietnam to Iraq to Afghanistan, and even those that have died years later from wounds suffered from active duty. Until you see the pain, and sorrow leave a sisters face, and be replaced with peace, and gratefulness. A sister, who not only had to lose a beloved brother, but had to suffer through the humiliating way our country treated those that served and died in Vietnam, finally coming to peace with their families loss. This flag represents friends, neighbors, coworkers, and even complete strangers coming together to tell these families, We Remember, you are not the only one who recognizes your sacrifice.

Some use the phrase that these young men and women died for their country. They DID. But, their country is made up of 330 million Tom Mitchells. And This Tom Mitchell will spend the rest of his life making sure that all of the 70,000 Ohio families that have given a loved one for my freedom, receives a flag with their family members name on it. It is the least we can do to show we care. That we appreciate the lifetime of sacrifice that these families have endured so the rest of us can live freely.

Surely this country is great enough, that we can support THREE Flags that represent not only the ideals that this nation was founded upon, but also the two flags POW/MIA and Honor and Remember Flags that show our un-wavering support for those that keep the American Flag Flying.

Regards,

For those who say we already have a flag that commemorates those who died in Service to this country are missing the point. The Honor and Remember Flag is to remind the living that those who sacrificed did not make that sacrifice in vain and that they WILL be remembered.

Can anyone remeber Crispus Attucks or know who he was? I couldn’t either until I started my own personal crusade for the Honor and Remember Flag. I found that he was probably the first casualty of the Revolutionary War. There have been many who followed him. If this Honor and Remember Flag causes us to remember even one person who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country, then it can be considered a rousing success.

George Lutz, The creator of the Honor and Remember Flag in said, “Theese families only want to know two things when they lose a loved on in service; Did they die in vain? Will they be remembered? This flag answers those questions.

Every city, county, township, state, business, Organization, military branch, etc., seems to have their own flag. Those who fought and died to give them that right to have a flag do not have one of their own. Who better to remeber with this special flag? I will continue flying mine right up there with “Old Glory” as long as the sun shines. By the way, I am a retired veteran of 24 years in the Air Force and 3 Southeast Asia tours.

What a great way to support our troops and people who have served our country throughout history! I also recently heard about a great organization called The Greatest Generations Foundation who is involved in another amazing project in Normandy. They are building a center there for veterans and students to visit so the stories of WWII can be told before the opportunity is gone. I found it to be an incredibly great project which can have a huge affect on veterans and continuing their legacy even after they are gone. I was able to donate here: http://tggf.us/what-we-do/legacy-at-normandy/.

1.6 million signatures for 1.6 million war dead and (is my math correct?) an unidentifiable number of personalized Honor and Remember flags placed in the hands of living parents of deceased military (one flag for each war dead, but the number is inexact, since we don't know if the parents are still living) plus a flag for every FUTURE war casualty-- or, correct that-- every future DEATH IN SERVICE, not necessarily hostile casualty death, just so long as the soldier died in active service... I think this adds up to MANY flags. And if the flag becomes a federal "official" flag, then, well let's see-- we can have countless flags all across the fifty states at state capitols, post offices, judicial buildings, the list goes on. And George Lutz' "Honor and Remember Flag" is a sole source flag (only available at one place... at George Lutz' online store... Sure it's a great idea! It'll make TONS of money! And all for the "non-profit" Honor and Remember Organization. And what is their "charitable mission?" TO PLACE FLAGS (which only they sell) INTO THE HANDS OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE FALLEN.

Dear George, I am a vet from the great state of OHIO, And I can tell you I will proudly fly this flag, from the flag pole that was given to me by a beloved friend who was at the battle of "IWO JIMA". Old Glory, My flag, My beloved, means everything to me.I kneel in my back yard with with the soil of my father, and grandfather in both hands, thanking my GOD, for my country, my freedom, and future. Such has Old Glory meant to me. However,is there no room for a singular HONOR for those who who have given the ultimate sacricfice?
