“Learn How We Can Give Back To Our Soldiers and Make A Difference in Less Than Five Minutes”

In my eyes, serving in the military is one of the greatest accomplishments you can achieve in life.  Serving in the military means that you dedicate your life to help and protect the United States no matter what the consequences.

How many men and women have the courage, the intelligence, the love and the strength to give everything they got to help make this world a better place and to make sure that the United States is safe from terrorists and any threats that pose on our country .

Our military, our veterans and the people who support them exhibit a deep love for this country and everything that represents who we are as a nation.  The media recognizes this and they have been tying to send the message that our American Soldiers have risked their lives to give our nation a better place to live.  Many have died, lost body parts and have become disabled trying to protect this nation.  And I guarantee you if you ask them if they could do it all over again and serve for this country without a doubt they would.

This is why it is so important to that we become an advocate and work together as one to exhibit our love, respect and appreciation for these American soldiers.

One organization has realized the importance of giving back to our soldiers by creating a program to honor these solders.  It is called, “The Honor and Remember Campaign.”

If we work together as one we can accomplish the goals we set to help better this nation and help others understand the importance to love, respect, and give back to soldiers that have given us the opportunity to experience freedom and opportunity to succeed to higher levels.

This is why you need to support the “Honor and Remember Campaign (The Honor and Remember Flag).”

What is it?

This campaign was designed to create, establish and promote a nationally recognized flag that would fly continuously as a visible reminder to all Americans of the lives lost in defense of our national freedoms. All Military lives lost not only in action but also in service, from our nation’s inception.

1.6 million Men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice in wars and conflicts as members of the United States military. And if we look back in history, in the past 200 years there has never been an official national symbol that recognizes in gratitude and respect the ultimate sacrifice made by members of the United States military in service to our nation. The Honor and Remember Organization was created to honor these heroes.  We need a symbol to remind us daily that they should not be forgotten.  We need to pay our respect by creating a symbol to exhibit respect for our soldiers and to say thank you for all they have done for us.”

.

The Honor and Remember Goals:

  1. To promote the vision of the Honor and Remember Flag and request that visitors to the website sign a petition and pass the word about the importance of this new symbol.
  2. To build a consensus among the branches of the United States military, veterans organizations, service and civic groups, businesses and individuals in order to collectively solicit the Department of Defense and the United States Congress to propose and accept the Honor and Remember Flag as the official flag for honoring all fallen servicemen and servicewomen.
  3. To promote broad national awareness of and groundswell interest in the flag, so that military, government and educational facilities as well as households throughout the country would begin flying the Honor and Remember Flag in recognition of our nation has fallen warriors.
  4. To place one personalized Honor and Remember Flag in the hands of living parents who have lost a child in military service to America.

They and many thousands of other Americans believe we need a flag that commemorates military men and women who died in service for their country.

Who we are:

The Honor and Remember Inc. is a Chesapeake-based non-profit organization, is circulating a petition to have the “Honor and Remember Flag” officially sanctioned as a national flag. The new emblem would fill a void in the officially recognized assemblage of American symbols.

What you can do to help:

Their goals is to collect one point six million signatures on a petition that will be delivered to the Department of Defense and then to Congress, requesting that the Honor and Remember Flag be officially designated as a national flag. They want one signature for every life lost in service to our country.

The Honor and Remember Flag is displayed online with an electronic petition.

One important goal of Honor and Remember Inc. is to place a personalized Honor and Remember Flag in the hands of every living parent who has lost a child in service to America.

Help them provide the respect and appreciation that our brave soldiers deserve.  Go online to sign the petition today at http://www.honorandremember.org/.    Let us change history together. They given us their lives, at least we can do is give them a symbol, a flag that shows we care, a flag that says thank you, we appreciate and love our brave American Solders.

With respect to Mr. Lutz, we already have a flag that “commemorates military men and women who died in service for their country.” They/we have fought for and under a flag, pledge allegiance to a flag, and will be honored to have a flag folded in our name one day.

We have one flag, one symbol that represents all that is great with our country. Adding other flags only dilutes the power of the one true flag. This organization wants to amend the flag code. We should be channeling this energy into following the flag code that already exists.

I cannot thank you enough for making this comment. I too thought that the American flag should represent those lives lost. However it is not what Old Glory was meant to stand for. She stands for everything you stated but no-where in its meaning does it identify the sacrifices made. We have many flags to honor various groups in our nation, we have magnets and t shirts that say support our troops. But we have nothing that speaks specifically to the sacrifice and says Thank you! Why not a beautiful recognizable symbol that says we recognize that sacrifice and fly it in thanks to all those who didn’t return home. We have thousands of unappreciated Vietnam and Korean war vets. I am reminded how they were treated not long ago, and even less so the parents of those who died there. Lets remind Americans there is that select group who died, so that we may walk free. Why not an icon so that all of the families, friends and veterans have some closure in the fact that we actually will never forget. Nothing is meant to ever replace or diminish the American flag, the proudest symbol of our nation. But like the POW flag recognizes a most honored and unique group so respectfully, so does the Honor and Remember flag. I believe there are hundreds of thousands that see this need and many more in appreciation of this important vision. God Bless you and I am very thankful for your service. If you would like to further discuss please write to me personally at george@honorandremember.org Respectfully George Lutz

I am sorry that you do not realize the deep seeded healing and emotional impact of this campain. By signing the petition we make a statement of support to the families and friends that tells America we can never say thank you enough. We appreciate so much the level of your family’s commitment to keep us free. However when you presided over flag draped coffins it was in reverence of a life extingquished. The Honor and Remember Flag proclaims a specific tribute and proudly celebrates each individual that lived and the contribution they have made for generations to come. The two work in concert not in opposition.” HR

Most of the characters in the novel A Farewell to Arms are tired of war. As a result, they turn away from group identities that are found in things such as tradition, patriotism, glory, and sacrifice.

Henry says “I had seen nothing sacred and the things that were glorious had no glory and the sacrifices were like the stockyards at Chicago if nothing was done with meat except to bury it…Abstract words such as glory, honor, courage, or hallow were obscene beside the concrete names of villages, the numbers of roads, the names of rivers, the numbers of regiments, and the dates.” (169)

As a result, Henry turns away from ideals, such as patriotism, that create nations and chooses to honor the individual people, places, and times.

A flag that honors ALL of living and the sacificed dead. This flag that could work only in AMERICA should be the National,FREEDOM flag. Freedom is the thing, we americans understand. We know true life was to be lived under the eyes of our KING of KINGS FREE. So let freedom, ring, and let freedom fly on every flag pole in America below the stars and stripes. AMERICA will always be the country that people around the world look to lead, let the stars and stripes aiways ride high on the pole as the true leaders we the people are, and fly the national freedom flag half staff every day for the ones that gave it there all GOD BLESS THEM ALL. The national flag of freedom is the CHRISTAN flag.

Dear George, I am a vet from the great state of OHIO, And I can tell you I will proudly fly this flag, from the flag pole that was given to me by a beloved friend who was at the battle of “IWO JIMA”. Old Glory, My flag, My beloved, means everything to me.I kneel in my back yard with with the soil of my father, and grandfather in both hands, thanking my GOD, for my country, my freedom, and future. Such has Old Glory meant to me. However,is there no room for a singular HONOR for those who who have given the ultimate sacricfice?

1.6 million signatures for 1.6 million war dead and (is my math correct?) an unidentifiable number of personalized Honor and Remember flags placed in the hands of living parents of deceased military (one flag for each war dead, but the number is inexact, since we don’t know if the parents are still living) plus a flag for every FUTURE war casualty– or, correct that– every future DEATH IN SERVICE, not necessarily hostile casualty death, just so long as the soldier died in active service… I think this adds up to MANY flags. And if the flag becomes a federal “official” flag, then, well let’s see– we can have countless flags all across the fifty states at state capitols, post offices, judicial buildings, the list goes on. And George Lutz’ “Honor and Remember Flag” is a sole source flag (only available at one place… at George Lutz’ online store… Sure it’s a great idea! It’ll make TONS of money! And all for the “non-profit” Honor and Remember Organization. And what is their “charitable mission?” TO PLACE FLAGS (which only they sell) INTO THE HANDS OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE FALLEN.
