Vacation Deals for Military Families

After being asked many times,”What kind of military vacation deals are out there?” I decided to compile this list. Whether you are planning an exclusive two week vacation to the Caribbean or just a weekend getaway down the shore, this list will give you everything from hotels to amusement park, military discount information.

Universal Studios in Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood is offering discount tickets to all members of the Armed Forces all year long! Eligible members to receive this discount are retired military, DOD personnel, members of the National Guard/Reserves, dependents and all other on base personnel. Tickets must be purchased in advance and can only be obtained at MWR/ITT offices throughout the United States. You will not find these discounted rate tickets at the Universal Studios Hollywood box office. You will need a valid military or U.S. Government identification card. Visit your local base MWR/ITT ticket office to purchase your tickets or you can order your tickets over the phone by contacting Commander, Navy Region, Southwest at (619) 767-6000. Your tickets will arrive via the U.S. mail within 7 business days. Overnight service is available for a nominal fee.

Walt Disney World in Orlando

Walt Disney World in Orlando is once again introducing the Armed Forces Salute. This year, this offer expires sooner, tickets need to be purchased by July 31st 2010 and “activated” at the WDW ticket window by September 26th 2010 because they expire September 30th 2010. The tickets are 4-day passes, for you and up to 5 family members for $99.

Disney World Resorts are also offering a 40% military discount on room rates.

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment

All active duty, reserve or National Guard will receive a free admission under the Here’s to the Heroes program. A valid military ID is required upon entrance to the parks and up to three dependants are also entitled to free admission. Participating parks are Sea World Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay or Williamsburg, Sesame Place, Water Country USA and Adventure Island.

Beaches Resorts

Beaches Resorts is offering a 10% off discount to all U.S. and Canada military. They are also offering an additional 15% off if you book your travel during Fall 2010 (Aug 23 – Oct 31).

      Armed Forces Recreation Centers

There are service recreational facilities in which offer the amenities of a first-class resort at affordable prices for service members, Department of Defense civilians, military retirees, and their families. These centers are operated by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command (FMWRC). The AFRC resorts provide members of the military with lower cost vacations at popular destinations worldwide. Rates for use of these facilities are usually determined by rank and may vary by season. The resorts available are;
