Calling WWII Veterans

March 6th, 2010  |  Published in Veteran Stories

Dear Sir/ madam,

My name is Konstantin Suslov. I am a final year student at Middlesex University, studying photography.

The purpose of this article is to find people who are willing to take part or to assist me in finding people for the project I am currently working on, which is all about WW2 veterans.

In the present day, many of people who fought in World War II have either passed away or are elderly, so in light of the 65th Anniversary of the end of war, I feel that now is an appropriate and opportune moment to document these great individuals in order to provide a historical, visual document that will have value for my generation and many generations to come.

The idea of the project is to photograph veterans across the UK, Russia, Germany and France. During the project I wish to focus mainly on individual personalities, but I am also willing to show the different ways and conditions of living. In order to do so I wanted to photograph people within their personal environment. I would also be very grateful to hear some of your stories of what happened to you whilst serving in the military.

This image is an example of photographic style I am trying to achieve.

If you think you would be interested at all in joining the project or have any information about people who might be willing to help, please contact me via email or telephone.
